1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to remember your settings.

•First-party cookies are set directly by Zomodus. All of the cookies we currently use are first-party.

•Third-party cookies are set by external providers (for example, analytics platforms or ad networks). We do not currently use any third-party cookies.

2. Categories of cookies — and what we currently use

Cookies are commonly grouped into the categories below. Today, Zomodus uses only strictly-necessary and functional cookies; we do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

•Strictly necessary — essential for the website to function (security, account login, session management). We use one: a sign-in / session cookie, set when you sign in via the magic-link email, which keeps you securely signed in and is cleared when your session ends. These cannot be switched off in our systems.

•Functional — remember your preferences. We use one: a language cookie (“zomodus_lang”), set only when you choose a language from the switcher (English, 中文, Bahasa Melayu or Tamil). It lasts about a year, is limited to our own site (SameSite=Lax), and holds no personal or sensitive information.

•Performance & analytics — collect aggregated, anonymous data on how visitors use a site. We do NOT currently use these.

•Targeting & advertising — track browsing to deliver tailored ads. We do NOT use these, and we do not track you across other sites.

If you only browse the public site or complete a survey by link or QR code, no sign-in is required and no tracking cookie is set.

3. Regional disclosures — EEA & United Kingdom (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA or the UK, our use of cookies is governed by the EU/UK GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive.

•Legal basis: our strictly-necessary cookie is processed under our legitimate interest in running a functioning website; our functional language cookie is set only as a result of your own choice to change language. We do not currently deploy cookies that require prior opt-in consent (such as analytics or advertising cookies).

•If we introduce non-essential cookies in future, we will obtain your explicit, opt-in consent first — for example, through a cookie-consent banner that lets you accept, reject, or customise by category — and you will be able to withdraw or change that consent at any time without penalty.

•Your rights: you may request access to, rectification of, or erasure of personal data we hold, as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Regional disclosures — California (CCPA/CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have specific rights regarding personal information collected through cookies.

•Because we do not use advertising or analytics cookies and do not allow third parties to collect identifiers through our site, we do not “sell” or “share” your personal information (as those terms are defined under California law) via cookies.

•If we introduce advertising or analytics cookies in future, we will provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link and a means to opt out, and we will honour valid Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as opt-out requests.

5. How to manage and control cookies

Because we currently use only strictly-necessary and functional cookies, we do not show a cookie-consent banner. Most web browsers also let you view, manage, delete, and block cookies through their settings, and warn you before accepting them. Note that blocking the sign-in / session cookie will prevent you from staying signed in, so account features will not work; blocking the language cookie simply means the site will not remember your language between visits.

6. Updates to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in legal requirements or our operational practices — including if we begin using analytics or advertising cookies, in which case we will put the appropriate consent mechanisms in place before doing so. Changes take effect when the revised policy is posted, with an updated “Last updated” date above.
